  • F1 as AF Home not working after upgrade to 3

I upgraded to firmware 3.0 this morning.

I have always used the default setting for the F1 button - it changes the AF target to it's home position. That has stopped working. I have checked all the relevent settings and they are all as should be.

The F1 button works for several other selected functions, so it's not the button at fault.

The F2 button doesn't work as "Home" either.

Anyone else found this? Any solutions? Or is it a software error in the new firmware?

Home button works fine on firmware 3 (FN1 or another button you assigned), I suggest a reset to your camera.

You have to set the F1 button to Home, as you have done.

But you also need to tell it where and what Home is:
      Cog menu, A2, Set Home.

Did you allow the settings to be reloaded after the update?

Yes I did Ross. BUT ...

I have just saved settings, reset camera, reloaded settings, and all is well. I'm a bit surprised as I expected the reload to reload the problem: but it didn't.

              Thanks for replying.

It worked kbouk, even after I reloaded the saved settings. Thanks.

I found this as well. I had to 'remind' the camera what the actual home setting was (ie centre single point for me) and then it worked fine again.
