  • Touch screen shooting with E-P5

I can select a focus point, using the touch screen of my E-P5, bit is it possible to also shoot using the screen? I'm thinking a quick double tap would be useful in some situations.

The E-P5 has that function. Page 20 of the manual refers.

I find a two second delay helps stop camera shake if the screen is tapped to release the shutter.

I'm a little puzzled by that Graham.

The mode is to "Tap (touch gently would be a better term) to focus and automatically release the shutter" not "Tap to release the shutter". The camera focuses on the point touched and on achieving focus the "focus lock" signal is used to automatically and instantly release the shutter. If for any reason it does not achieve focus the shutter is not released. Surely any camera shake will be taken care of by the IBIS.

I've used this a few times with my E-M10 MK II (not more often because I still tend to prefer not to use Live View for shooting ) but have been very impressed with how well it works.

Looking at the type of photography Internaut does I think this mode should be ideal for him.

        Regards.

Thanks all. I'm a recent convert to the idea. I got some great waist level shots, recently, in a busy market place. No issue when shooting wide but, waist level or not, I think this would be good with longer/faster lenses (e.g. my 45mm f1.8) where focusing on the right thing matters.
