  • 7-14mm Old versus New

    Anybody know if its worth upgrading to the new 7-14mm lens I have the old one which although a little heavy is a superb lens
    should I upgrade?

    If you are happy with the results from the 7-14 f/4 then stay with it.

    Unless, of course, you use those focal lengths a lot and want the extra light transmission of the f/2.8

    Weight is a big consideration as well. You will see some improvement in IQ as the new "Zero" coating works fantastically well. Being such a wide lens, you can set the focus to the hyper-focal length and shoot at very high frame rate, without any shutter lag. Great for close in, fast action shoots in skate board & BMX parks...

      Hi Graham thanks for the advice, I bought the lens for landscape especially star night shots and northern lights but maybe the new faster lens would be better for this?
