    Hi I just wanted to get the battery problem under one roof.
    Alkaline :- Don't work
    Lithium :- Don't work
    Recharge:- Don't Work
    Does anything work

    I have raised this with Olympus. I have tried standard alkalines and NiMH rechargeables and they don't work as you say. I now have a set of Duracell Ultra M3 heavy duty alkalines and Energizer Lithiums to try - I will let you know if my experiences concur with yours.

      To which you might add that CR123s don't work either.

        I think I should also add that the instructions say you should use alkaline or lithium and that they should only be used in an emergency. They are not going to be much use if the camera switches of after 4 or 5 shots.
