Naughty Nigel Full member Registered: May 2008 Location: Land of the Prince Bishops Posts: 8,429	This photograph captures some of the 'Cow Houses' which are a feature of the upper Swaledale area. These are not barns as many people think, but were used to house cattle during the harsh winters from about the 17th century onwards. This tradition continued well into the 20th century. The slight haze in the background was from late autumn fires.
