Olympus BLM-1 Digital Camera Battery - Lithium-Ion 7.4V 1600mAh - For E30 etc...

Olympus BLM-1 Digital Camera Battery - Lithium-Ion 7.4V 1600mAh - For E30 etc... The original Olympus battery is very expensive does anyone have any thoughts on buying and using the cheaper ones (priced at anything from about -7.00 upwards to around 60/70 pounds? For those in the UK if you buy cheaper where do you recommend?

A lot of people, me included, use the Uniross VB 104295. It also was a 'best buy' in a series of tests posted on the net - it performed at least as well as the 'official' battery.
I've always bought mine from Amazon:

(Odd, I tried copying and pasting the url, but it didn't work! So I've have to bury it in quotes.)

I have both a Uniross and an unknown make, which perform equally as well. I would be tempted to avoid the very cheapest and go a couple of pounds extra.

I have used the clone units from 7dayshop.com. There is one in my wifes camera at the moment (E510).

Personally I normally use My Memory for both batteries and memory cards.
Never had any issues with them.

Re: Olympus BLM-1 Digital Camera Battery - Lithium-Ion 7.4V 1600mAh - For E30 etc...

I have two 2000mah BLM-1 power packs from Hong Kong which I found on e-Bay.........price was good, took about three weeks to deliver to my door, and each one lasts about three sessions outside so far this winter. My sessions are usually a few hours long, or until I need to get back in the car to warm up. I expect that once the warmer weather comes, I'll do better. I also have a couple of 1500's and one 1700, to keep as spares in the bag, just in case - also from HK on e-Bay. The link here, is to the outfit I got my batteries from. This is an even better deal than the one I got - free shipping to the U.K. from what I read on that site.........you can also search the online store and get charger/battery pkg so you can charge more than one at a time.
