Car park pics

Went to photograph the ducks on a local lake and got as far as the car park & saw these.

Wanted to get them both in focus but couldn't. Not sure what the bird is, a thrush?

I spent a very pleasant hour watching the rabbits and robins. All with E 3, 300 2.8 + 1.4 converter, tripod and gimball head.

Re: Car park pics

No. 1 for me - a classic winter shot with the vegetation helping frame the robin and also helping create the winter feel. For some reason, I find the robin's pose and the vegetation gives a better balance than in the second.
Also like the second thrush photo - hell of a shallow clear depth of field, which might be accentuated by doing a tight letter box shape crop - but all in all a good way to spend a sunny hour or so!

Re: Car park pics

I rather like number 4. The narrow in-focus strip of grass makes the scene remind me of a catwalk with the Song Thrush " model " strutting her stuff. Or maybe it's just my weird way of looking at things

Regards
