Re: Anyone thinking of buying a E600
The E-600 does exist - it's a feature-reduced version of the E-620, but it's only produced in limited numbers as 'exclusives' for big store chains. It's not really different enough, or common enough to have its own forum, so I will amend the E-620 title to include the E-600.Originally posted by DerekW View PostIs this genuine - why is there no such e600 entry on the forum
Basically the hardware is identical to an E-620, but there are fewer Art Filter modes, no multiple exposure mode, and nor are the buttons back-lit like the E-620.
Ian
PS I don't think the E-600 is eligible for the current free spare battery and power grip promotion that the E-620 is.Founder and editor of:

Re: Anyone thinking of buying a E600
IMO At the price it's offered at I think it's a massively good value camera as an introduction to the e-System. For many the missing feaures will be no issue at all

Just for fun I decided to look see what the delivery quoted was and got this response from my browser

Re: Anyone thinking of buying a E600
I've used the site before and they have been fine. I think it's just a software bug problem to be honest.
I just thought that if anyone wanted a new camera that it would be a good deal. I don't get anything from it. Just trying to be helpful.

Re: Anyone thinking of buying a E600
I could be very tempted to pick up an E600 as a carry around camera for those times I don't want to lug my E30 and lenses around. The only thing putting me off is the fact that Adobe Camera Raw/Lightroom doesn't currently handle E600 raw files, even though they are the same as the E620s. Given the E600 is an Olympus special, ie not sold in all markets or even by all vendors, I'm not sure the Adobe will add it to the supported list: they probably will but I want to be certain before I part with my cash.

Re: Anyone thinking of buying a E600
I'm using my E600 with Ligtroom 2.5 by changing the model number in the ORF EXIF data from E600 to E620, LR will then import them normally. See my posting on the E620/600 forum if you're interested:
It's not perfect but it work's and it's all I have until Adobe update LR..

Firefox does not like the certificate, IE8 says that it is issued by Globalsign Domain Validation CA and is OK.
