Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II The second Micro Four Thirds camera that offers phase detect focusing so you can use Four Thirds DSLR lenses normally as well a Micro Four Thirds lenses.

Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corp. is entirely independant of the Sony camera division and supplies camera sensors to a lot of camera manufacturers in a wide range of applications. http://www.sony-semicon.co.jp/produc....html#products

I believe all the recent Olympus cameras have used Sony made sensors.

Olympus do design sensors for their much larger (and more profitable) medical imaging business but do not have their own semiconductor manufacturing capability. Quite likely that Olympus will have had at least an involvement in the design of the new sensor.

Sony Corporation, the parent company of the conglomerate has a shareholding in Olympus Corp.

All part of "Globalisation".
