just ordered 70-300 mm but ?

does anyone know if this lens has a mf/af switch on the lens as i have been told it might have and if so why as I thought this was controlled by the menu system ? Regards Iain

Hi, Yes the lens does have a AF/MF switch. It does make it so much quicker if you want to change to MF. Not sure the reason this lens has been fitted with the switch.

I gather the switch is because it is Oly glass with Sigma build.
I leave mine on auto on the lens and set the camera to manual focus with the AFL button as a one push focus
Yes occasionally the focus goes out and the lens close focuses but the little finger on the left hand sorts that ... give it a week of trying it out on everything and I think you will grow to love it...

It's a great lens and the MF is so useful if the AF is haveing trouble finding focus (on water, etc)
