    Not such good news

Jon told me today and, asked if I could inform all here, he is absent because he has been pretty ill. The treatments for his "big C" mean he now has to go into hospital on 17th September.

He told me, he "is just too tired" to tell anyone here - family and close friends was tough and tiring for him.

He is hoping to get an EM-1 in October and after recovering from his surgery and further treatment will be back with us all soon.

Some of you know Jon very well. He has organised many a Guided Tour for Members in the past and next year too, being very proud of his Skye and the Sea Eagles ; the Single Malts ; and the fantastic Landscape & wildlife.

Many of his Print sales, have stimulated sales in Olympus cameras too So Mark at Oly may like to send him a card ?

He rarely picks up emails as sitting at the computer is tiring.

I was thinking of sending him a Get Well photo and a story about it - so when he feels up to it, he could look through and read or his wife may and it could cheer him up

I had noticed the lack of "Tea Room Tales" to enliven the day. All the best to Jon. Turns out Scotland is a big place and, whilst north of the border this summer, was unfortunately still too far away from Skye to get there during my holiday this year. A trip to the wee tea room will have to take place on a future occassion.

Thanks for letting us know Chevvy.

I thought Jon had disappeared for the summer due to being busy with the wee tea room, I had no idea it was due to poor health. Along with everyone else I wish him a full and speedy recovery. Hopefully he will be well on his way to recovery by the time the E-M1 is available.

This is a bit of a surprise as Jon has been posting on Facebook fairly regularly (every 3 days or so).

Naturally I hope he gets better very soon!

Chevvy, I heard this upsetting news from IainMacD earlier today after he invited Jon and I to meet him at the EM-1 'open day' at FFordes on Wednesday. Iain and I now hope to visit Jon during his stay in hospital, if Jon feels up to it and would appreciate it of course.

If we do get to see him we will pass on the best wishes being extended to him from all his friends on the forum.
