M.Zuiko14-42 compared to 12-50

Can anyone tell me, is the 12-50mm a great improvement over the 14-42mm when used on an E-PL2? I like the idea of the macro function and something a bit wider for landscapes but wondered if it is worth the extra investment?
Thanks for any thoughts you might have

Well everyone says the 12mm is a nice wide improvement, and they say the macro is quite good and they say the weathersealing is useful,
so if any of those three bonuses tempts you you might not be worried about the reputed loss of a bit of sharpness ...

I should make sure that you have compared them physically. The 12-50 is a lot bigger than I expected and on an EPL-2 might be a bit cumbersome

Re: M.Zuiko14-42 compared to 12-50

I have used both lenses on an epl2 (I have the EM5 and have used both lenses on this as well) and I find very little difference in IQ. The zoom is obviously a little more at both ends, but not dramatically so, equally the macro is a nice to have.

I still prefer the 14-42 on the epl2 simply because it feels better in my hand - the 12-50 is a lot bigger.
