    The 17mm m.Zuiko f/1.8 is here at Photokina - pix...

    In a bit of a rush here at Photokina as I have yet another meeting to dash to but here are some un-processed shots for you of the new m.Zuiko 17mm f/1.8 - a working sample - taken in the press meeting area on the Olympus stand (mounted on my E-M5). I have taken some shots but I'm not allowed to publish them, sadly - but it looks great.









    I do have some shots taken with the 60mm Macro that I can publish - but I won't be able to upload these until later today, sorry.

        Judging by the dof and perspective I'd say the 45mm f1.8., but it could be the ne 60mm macro.

          Umm.. the 60mm macro?

          And I bet it was taken with one of the new Pens - the E-PL5?

            There's a whole raft of new lenses I want - but I'll have to cull my existing equipment to afford even one of them!

                Yep, checked the exif after I had posted and its the 60mm macro and E-PL5.

                  Well I like it, but it looks a bit odd - like a tiny lens hidden in a tunnel with superfluous bulk built around it for show.
                  I'm hoping the bulk makes for excellent tactile manual-focus and swift-autofocus.

                  The challenge will be seeing if it actually takes pictures as good

                    It's much better than the 17mm pancake, which I personally was not that impressed with relative to other Olympus lenses. Focus is also fast, just like the other MSC lenses.

                      It seems smaller than I expected, bearing in mind the f1.8, and the front element is surprisingly small for such a bright semi-wide. Certaiinly a lens to drool over but I won't be affording it any time soon!

                      I know you can't post pictures but can you comment on them? I would expect it to be in the same league as the 12mm f2.0.

                              argh that long never how much it going to be.. Was looking at getting the 17mm 2.8 till i saw this post. Is the 2.8 any good?
