Quite simply stunning. My favourites are number 3 - I love the light along the top of the dunes - and number 6 for the colours, but they're all absolute stoaters!
(Edit - I might have cropped out some of the blue sky at the top of number 3 - maybe a 4x6 crop?)

Woah! How do you pick a favourite from that lot? All stunning, all make me want to be there.

I agree with John I can't pick a favourite either - great shots and what a lovely place.

Lovely pics, and thanks for posting. I'm writing a short story set on the west coast of Scotland and though I remembered the sand as being white, it's years since I've been and great to see just how incredibly pale it is

An extremely good set of shots - sometimes we forget just what a beautiful place Scotland and the Isles are.

                    Re: The Outer Hebrides

All really fab, well spotted, composed and taken, photos of the wonderful Hebridian scenery.

Will anyone find it strange if I say No.2 for me, as it just goes to show how wonderful telegraph poles can be for framing, splitting or adding interest to a photograph.
I'd almost deliberately crop this to a portrait layout of the LHS of the overall image, as there is everything there on the LHS - dark cloud at top with sun rays coming through, wonderful silhouettes of hills and deer, and dark ground at the bottom. It really is a fab image and amongst many fab images it is the one for me. This image for me shows why we shouldn't be afraid to use manmade objects in the landscape, and why cloning can at times be the wrong thing to do. So thanks for including this.

                    Regards
                    Chris

Not at all, I was just thinking the same thing. Although I like it in landscape format as it is.

Overall, a lovely set which really gives a feel for the wild spaces. Thanks ChrisW for sharing them.

                          Thanks for the kind comments.

I enjoy the long white beaches and the ever changing skies which keep altering the way the landscape is lit.

If you are going to travel there, keep your eyes open and your camera close to hand.

Which one do I like most? Hard to say but I do like the composition in 1, 2 and 5 with the low positioned horizon. I agree with John with the interesting framing effect produced by the poles. #7 has vibrant colors, perhaps cropping some of the foreground sand to position the piece of kelp more towards the corner (but that is just my humble opinion).
