  • Tethered shooting.

This looks interesting for those who want to do tethered shooting, but don't want to spend the money on Olympus Studio:

    I've not tried it myself.

    Re: Tethered shooting.

Jim, David, you don't need to spend money on Oly Studio any more.
If you email Oly USA, they will send you a complementary registration code as the software had now been superceded by Viewer 2.

      Bill,
Can I ask what email address you contacted for this. I've a daughter's wedding coming up and it's always been something I'd like to try.

I suspect that the Imagecraft one might be lighter on computer resources, as it doesn't have all the 'bells and whistles' of Studio.

Can you do this with all E-System cameras, or just some of them?

            Re: Tethered shooting.

Jamie I believe I used [email protected], or at least that's where the reply came from.

See this thread at fourthirdsphoto http://forum.fourthirdsphoto.com/sho...light=tethered

Which will eventually tell you how to get Viewer 2 to work with camera control.
This may be a better option depending on your needs.

            My reply from Oly follows
Thank you for contacting Olympus Technical Support.
Olympus Studio 2 was recently discontinued and replaced with the new Olympus Viewer 2.
Olympus Viewer 2 is available as a free download following link

            http://support.olympus-imaging.com/o...ndex/?Lang=ENU

If you were interested in Studio 2 for the CAMERA CONTROL feature then Viewer 2 will not work for you because it does not contain CAMERA CONTROL, we are still providing Olympus Studio 2 as a courtesy.

            Download Olympus Studio 2 (Win)

            https://emporium.olympus.com/downloa...dioWindows.zip

Use the following key (Not shown here, but I suspect they give the same key to everone from what I've seen)

Download Olympus Studio 2 (MAC) from the following link

            https://emporium.olympus.com/downloa...XM/OS230EN.dmg

Use the following key (Not shown here, but I suspect they give the same key to everone from what I've seen)

If you require additional assistance please reply to this email leaving the complete history intact.

It's all of them - check the link I gave.

"All E-System cameras are supported, from the original E-1 to the latest E-30, including E-5 and also on Windows 7 64 bit OS."

For those, like me, who use a Mac... this application is not available for OSx.

Try the Windows emulator 'Wine', which is available for the Mac:

The Imagecraft one may work best as it's claimed to be much faster than Studio, I guess because of Studio's 'feature bloat'.

                          Perfect, thanks Jamie.

Now to try this out when I get home - I have a Lightroom Presentation tomorrow...

                            Re: Tethered shooting.

Before I get to have a think about this... I wonder can anyone here offer some thought please.

OK, so Studio 2 will allow tethered shooting, which means I can show the resulting shots I take of models during demos on an overhead screen for all to see. I guess I can process them to a point in Studio 2 as well... but I want to be able to use LR4 to do the post processing. What is the process for this in Studio 2 i.e. when I take a shot, where does it have to be so that Studio sees it...? is it stored/saved anywhere on the system?

If so, I can set up a 'watched folder' in LR4 when the resulting image will be auto-imported into LR as soon as it is saved into the watched folder. That way, I can switch (alt-tab) on the Mac to show Studio 2 as the image is taken, then switch to LR4 as I process the image.

                            Would that work folks...?
