Since there's been a couple of postings about the poor retaining clip on the VF-2, I thought I'd have a play at DIY again.
The clip and black thread are off one of those mobile phone neck straps you see on market stalls.
The webbing is off one of the hand straps that come with the cheap mobile cases and the buckle I had in stock.
I just re-crimped the whole thing a bit shorter and slid a rubber sleeve over the metal ferrule. The other rubber sleeve to retain the thread against the viewfinder is actually used in the electronics industry, but I'm sure a fishing float rubber would do the job just as well.
It doesn't seem to strain anything, though the rubber protector for the hot shoe mount on the viewfinder is a bit harder to fit.
