  • New anti-spammer measures

Although we don't suffer from much spam on the e-group forum here, the threat is ever-present and so I've introduced additional measures to keep spammers at bay.

You may have seen this on other forums, but basically new members now need to achieve a minimum number of forum posts before they can include links in their posts. The same number of posts will also enable signatures to be shown.

If you are a relative newcomer to the site you may find that your signature won't show until you have made at least 6 forum posts. The routine that does this runs once an hour, so you might need give it some time.

But if you think something has gone wrong since the changes were added, let me know here and I'll look into it.

    All for keeping Spam out.

The ads are showing (along with the rubric which starts - To avoid seeing...)

(I have logged out and back in)

Ditto for me as well, except I've not tried "getting out of the car and back in again"
