Saw something this evening that I've never seen before. A Blackbird trying to feed his chicks with a MOUSE!
Not great shots as it was 8pm and the light was fading, also taken hand held through the double glazing. Hence ISO 1600 1/15 and 1/20sec shutter.
Thanks for looking.
Peter
she looked at me and said "It's official. I hate your camera. It's just so amazing and perfect I want one!"

We keep a few ex-battery hens and in a BBC documentary about chickens they showed a hen downing a mouse in one gulp. Not seen ours do that trick though

Ian : Urghhh ..... You just put me right off chicken
I have never seen this behavior before and like others I would loved to have had these in my collection
Well captured and very nice pictures given the conditions

Having seen a Mouse and a Rat in our garden today I can only live in hope that next door's chickens get hold of them
In the mean time I have had to resort to the little blue pellets (sad). We have a personal rule that if we see them on the patio or any of the concrete / patio areas we do that. At the bottom of the garden we consider them wildlife, but not that close
