  • St Michaels church, Enborne

A dull start to the day, and I called in on this church on the way home: I found it open, in darkness and empty. Wonderful

Its an unassuming Victorian flint thing that hides a 12th century interior and this great 12th century font...

Everything done with lots of negative exposure compensation, my trademark interior method :-)

Look, I'm an old man. I shouldn't be expected to put up with this.

Nicely done. I like the shot down the nave to the east end.

People say Olympus cameras aren't suitable for dark shots such as these, and it's true that bigger sensors usually do better. But I find with IS and ISOs up to 800 I can hand-hold most of the church interiors I shoot and get good results, though the higher ISOs usually need a little noise suppression.

    Tony
