Not my usual scene, although I have softened images on occasion. I abandoned Unsharp Mask years ago because it is so coarse. I am using Smart Sharpen and High Pass at times. Harold

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread
I just got my processing software working again.
Here are the first and second images more like I intended, if a little over-sharpened. Harold ![]() ![]()

I have to climb on the garden bench to photograph mine. Yours looks to flower lower down. So not so much mountaineering involved in some creative shots. keep them coming.. ![]() |

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread
New Broom, Old Lenses
Here are the first of the broom shrub flowers of the year. I used the Kiron 150mm at f16 (Apterure Priority+twin TTL flash) for the first image and the stereo and the Leitz Weztlar Elmarit 60mm macro for the last one. I like the way the group of flowers splayed outwards. EM-1, ISO 800, 1/200 and 1/60 The stereo is cross-eye. Harold ![]() ![]() ![]()

The Wisteria looks really fantastic against the stone. I like the converging horizontals and soft light.

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread
I've not posted for a long while, mostly because I've been doing a course in botany and my normal photographic "landscape/all things Northumbrian" trips out have taken a back seat in favour of lots of botanical excursions.
Since we have this marvellous thread on floral stuff, I'll chip in with a few. Here's the naughty bits of a Broad Leaved Helleborine (Epipactus helleborine),from last year I think. I keep returning to the location but it seems to have gone: ![]()

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread
Good to see you back, is your Botany course for personal satisfaction or job related, must be a fascinating course.
We have lots of Hellebores in the Garden, seems the worse you treat them, the more you get.
