Noisy images
Hi all, I have recently switched over from my trusty E-510 to the E-M5. I decided to go out boxing day to a location that I like to shoot when it’s foggy, the images looked pretty good on the screen but when I uploaded them and zoomed in the noise was really bad. Am I missing something? How should I have my settings for optimum output?
I was using the Olympus Zuiko 40-150mm lens, would this have contributed? I will go and try again with the standard pancake lens that came with it. It’s very likely that I have something set on low quality but I have read through the PDF and I am sure I’ve set everything for the best quality ![]() Any settings, tips or input much appreciated Cheers ![]() |

Re: Noisy images
Can you post some examples? What ISO were you using?

Re: Noisy images
Hi I’ve just compared the images same kind of setting ( foggy) between the two cameras in similar settings. The ‘510 ISO was 400 which looked okay and the EM5 was ISO1000

Quote:
High ISO and underexposure will lead to very poor noise performance it is one of the worst combinations.
