Hello from me

Just want to say hello from me!

Am total newbie to photography, bought one as fed of pics of kids on phones that me or other half gets to see so bought a Olympus E-M5 MK2, currently have the kit lense 12-50 and also the 40-150 R.

I enjoy being out and about with the camera, taking bird / nature pics so looks like it'll soon be time to take plunge into the 100-400 panasonic lens.

Re: Hello from me

Hi Matt, very warm welcome to the forum. You have made a good choice of cameras and lenses. And a good choice of forums to learn and tap into the Olympus knowledge...

Welcome Matt. That 100-400 lens is quite a beast and even with IS, at 800mm equivalent focal length, it's not a lens for the feint-hearted. You need good technique to get the best out of it. Don't let me put you off, but just make sure you understand what you're getting into!

Re: Hello from me

Hi Matt - well you definitely made the right choice of camera body. I am a fairly new newbie too. So suggest, get used to the glass you have, see if it works for you in terms of results, get some feedback from here, then and only then, look to spend out. Good Luck

Re: Hello from me

Once again thanks.

I was at a RSPB site yesterday, got a few pics am happy with but vast majority the bird is just a little dot in the distance, just need to sort out some software to edit the photo and crop it, will then upload on here.

Re: Hello from me

One question, as I'm looking at lenses is there any online resource that can give me a visual representation of the reach between say 150mm lens and a 300mm lens or a 400mm lens.
