BLN-1 Battery Cases
Having looked for some simple covers for my EM-1 batteries and not finding any, I opted for small Ziplok bags. I put one in each, especially when "flying" because of the rules on carrying extra batteries safely. I then put them all in a small cloth glasses bag and get one out when I need a charged one, putting the dead ones back into the camera bag (in its Ziplok) not into the glasses bag!
![]() NOT ANY MORE!! I have "invented" the BLN-1 battery case. It is "additively manufactured" from PET and comes in a 1, 2 ,3 or 4 battery configuration! It has taken a while to get it right but I'm happy with the result. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm quite surprised how strong they are too. A single holder weighs just 6 grams. ![]() Nothing round the back.... ![]() Olympic Gold! ![]() ![]() I also made a marking gauge to put simple red and green marks on the battery. I then post it back in the appropriate way. ![]() ![]() Just poke your finger in the bottom ![]() ![]() Available in limited quantities in Olympus Blue and Black. ![]() Single £2 Long Double or Wide Double £3.75 Wide 3 (not shown) £5 Long 4 £6.50 1 marking gauge will be sent with each "order" Postage extra. Manufactured in the UK. I may not solve the Brexit crisis, but it's a start!

Re: BLN-1 Battery Cases
What a neat idea. I have 4 of these batteries and an eternal problem keeping charged and dead ones sorted out. I may just have to be your first customer

Re: BLN-1 Battery Cases
What a great idea – brick stands. Just the job for hoddies who are sick of scraping their fingernails when they pick up bricks from the ground.
![]() Seriously, they look like excellent battery cases. I am still not sure if it is a genuine commercial enterprise or not, though? Ron |

Ron, they are for sale, but where it is a profitable enterprise remains to be seen! Watch this space.... Andrew

Re: BLN-1 Battery Cases
First 3 orders posted out, looking forward to some "user"comments!
If anyone has an idea they need "prototyping up" then I could be your man. I may turn my attention to some macro flash diffusers next!

I guess you've got yourself a 3D printer! I've toyed with the idea on and off for a while.

Re: BLN-1 Battery Cases
I ordered a small selection from Andrew and they arrived safely today. Just tried some batteries in them and they look really good - nice snug fit but reasonably easy to slide the battery in and out. The marking gauge is small and just asking to get lost, though!
Many thanks to Andrew, what a great idea, and well implemented. John |

Re: BLN-1 Battery Cases
My "4-up" arrived today, after a hiatus for re-delivery when I was out on Monday.
It's great! Batteries fit neatly, the whole thing will sit nicely in a pocket of the camera bag, and the green/red marking idea is perfect for indicating the live from the dead. Now I just need to remember where I actually left that 4th battery, and I'm in business! ![]() Thanks Andrew! |
