Little tuna (FT 300 f/2.0) - 1150 o.n.o.

here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Olympus-1...1vpA:rk:2:pf:0

A legendary lens by all accounts. But not lightweight, and not for me ...

P.S. 150mm f/2.0 - not 300mm. Had a temporary brainstorm and no idea how to edit the title

Wex have one at 841 - (relatively) cheap but it looks as if it has been round the block a few times! But I don't think Wex sell rubbish.

Yeah, this seems pricey for this lens. Yes, it has great image quality, but its still 1.5kg, which doesn't really go with the whole point of the m4/3 system. The 40-150mm f/2.8 is also pretty great at 150mm, is only 1 stop slower and is half the weight.

And here is the so-called "Big tuna" (300mm, f/2.8, "used, like new") for only 441. Sounds dodgy to me ... too good to b true?

That link was for a 7000 lens I'd say that was expensive!

The content has changed! There was someone called Itch-mo selling two used copies for 441 and 443.
In my "Save for later" list it now says "This item is no longer available from the seller you selected." :-(

I agree Rob seriously dodgy This sort of thing definitely makes me more wary of Amazon, surely they ought to take more care over what is advertised on their platform.

I've just sent the 'Thames Trade Centre' an email, asking if I can pick it up and pay cash.

I'll post any reply I get!

Re: Little tuna (FT 300 f/2.0) - 1150 o.n.o.

I got a reply from them, which repeated paying by Amazon. Their reply also stated that it was a three for the price of two offer!

I've replied to them repeating that I want to pick it up.

The link is now to a different seller (in America) for 6,999! I guess that it's the original advert, but it had been 'hijacked' and has now been restored.

Well done Jim looks like you showed them they had been rumbled. Wonder if Amazon will follow up with the hijackers? I doubt it!

Re: Little tuna (FT 300 f/2.0) - 1150 o.n.o.

Just an update:

I've contacted the seller several times, stating that I'd like to pick the lens up and pay cash. All they do is to send me the same email:

"To set up our transaction, I need the following info( because I not see this on Amazon web ):
Full Name:
Address:
City:
POSTCODE:
Country:
Mobile number :

Product / ASIN:
Quantity:
Amount (price):
"

It's certainly a scam as originally suspected. I wondered just how far they would pursue a prospective sale, but they didn't go any further than above.
