Weekend in the black country (several images)

Enjoyed a superb weekend away last weekend, maybe the last with really warm temps.....visited Birmingham but as already mentioned elsewhere on the forum kicked myself that I didn't take the camera, still made up for it the following 2 days visiting the Black Country Museum, and final day In Stratford Upon Avon (in absolutely glorious sunshine)...a bit image heavy, but I hope you will enjoy the few posted....

Cheers

Peter

The more I see of the Black Country Museum the more I want to visit. All of these are really nice shots and help make up for not having your camera in Birmingham.

Yes some nice shots there, it's a fascinating place to visit. Great place for an e-group meet I'd say.

A glorious set Peter.

The first one and the Cobbler's Bench stand out for me.

The Black Country museum looks a great place.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Weekend in the black country (several images)

Thanks guys for the kind comments, it's well worth a visit, I took quite a few with the one's posted I thought to be some of the best. If you visit during the week there would be less crowds, as I had to pick the shots without the people and it is so annoying when you see a chance of a picture and someone walks right in front of you !! Room 101 I think. There where a few small groups of photo guys around, all loaded with Canikon gear, I again seemed to be the only one with Olympus, but feel quite chuffed with the pics I took, and would I be able to improve them if I had a Canikon ?? A group meet would be a great idea although not sure if I could make it as the distance/time element would make it difficult for me. A group met in Suffolk, now that's a good idea !!

Cheers

Peter

Re: Weekend in the black country (several images)

Nice set Peter, it's been a while since I went to the black country museum and it's not far away from me so no excuse.

By the way Peter Birmingham is not part of the Black Country and us real Black Country folk get real upset when we are classed with Brummies.

The way the next time you are at Brum have a look at Gas Street Basin, especially if its a cold bright winters day, the light can be outstanding and the smoke from the narrowboat's really stand out.
