Slide show from my E30

Hi all, just been playing with prophoto slide show, and my new to me E30, These images from slimbridge were all shot between iso 640 and 2000, as the light was very low and late afternoon a couple of weeks ago, the otters were at iso 2000, very pleased so far let me know what you think.

All comments good or bed welcomed.

Re: Slide show from my E30

Hi Dave

Looks intresting, but simply too many effects and double pictures for me

I use ProShow as well and I almost never use anything other than the dissolve unless I'm making a specific point

In my view slow it down - one picture at a time and make use of the zoom in and out more than the effects

http://www.shenstone.me.uk/misc/moroccoend.html

I don't have a U tube account as my presentations are made for me to present so I use .exe files and have never until now tried a web format, but here is one I've just trimmed off the end of a longer presentation that shows what I mean - sorry it's small I must learn these options

Regards
Andy

Re: Slide show from my E30

It isn't something I've ever done, but it's a lovely way of recording a day out and actually using the pictures for something instead of leaving them languishing somewhere on a hard drive.

There are some really good shots in there, that'd stand being shown on their own.

Re: Slide show from my E30

I liked the background graphics and music, but have to agree that the images would benefit from coming one at a time and I would prefer fewer effects! Use a few - preferably one or two effects for transitions, don't rotate the ducks and it will be very, very good!

The only time I would use two images side by side is if they are connected. Two facing ducks of the same species, a mother and a duckling, a pair etc.

I like the way the images aren't too compressed. I don't see the point of viewing images that are compressed so much you can't see what they are. This was pleasing in that way. Five minutes is maybe a little long.

Re: Slide show from my E30

Thank you all for your input, I was just experimenting with this AV software, I know normally you wouls only have a couple of effect and prob shorter, I actually like the disolve and page turn over effects best, you can also run a move in background whilst running still images on it haven't tried that, then dont know when you would, or possibly on a wedding DVD, don't know.

But thank you all for viewing and giving comments.

Re: Slide show from my E30

Interesting, but way too complicated. You don't have to use all the transition effects! Keep it simple.
Another popular program is Pictures to Exe which costs $50 with free upgrades for life. My club had two experts on the program (and digital AV in general) visit us on Wednesday and their shows were stunning. If they are ever visiting a club near you (they do get about a bit), check them out - Edgar and Linda Gibbs from Cardiff.

Re: Slide show from my E30

I agree PTE is excellent as well

Until the latest version you had to manually edit the sound files extrernally and even now it's a little clunky (I'm really looking forwards to v7 and if s as good as the demo's look I may well switch

I thought I did a detailed comparison on the 2 in a very old thread, but I can't find it - It may have been in adifferent forum. I may well do another

On the general topic of AV slideshows - I think they are often the best and easiest way to present pictures even if you don't use sound. I was asked to be a stand in speaker at a local wildlife club recently with 1 hours notice and all I had to do was grab a laptop, speakers and memory stick with files.

regards
Andy
