Cliveden gardens - Remember those lovely summer days?

Now it is cold and dark, I had a look at some pictures I have taken during the summer. This one of Cliveden house gardens really cheered me up, I hope you all enjoy it.

Cheers

Chris

A lovely summer shot. We didn't have one this year Or last

I like the triangle of the flower beds leading the eyes to the house. Very good.

I'd like to say Christine who ... but unfortunately I remember the story all too well! They say your short term memory goes first, now what was it I had for breakfast?

A few years ago there was a documentary that showed Christine K. living in a caravan. A sad ending to an earlier life of hedonism. Her friend Mandy R.D. did rather better out of the affair and IIRC owned night clubs.

Nice shot. I too like the lead in to the house which is nicely balanced with an effective sky. You've also got a wee bit of the manadatory RPS red in there so well done you.

Mandy Rice Davies did indeed own nightclubs and a pub in the village where I once lived.
Strange But John Profumo lived just down the road. My brother was friendly with his daughter.

Re: Cliveden gardens - Remember those lovely summer days?

It almost seems like another life - the world has moved on so much since those days but to add to the memories Stephen Ward was living a couple of streets away from my parental home in Watford when he was arrested!

Re: Cliveden gardens - Remember those lovely summer days?

Looks great! Only two things I can possibly criticise here are two small technical things - the colour profile is AdobeRGB, for web it is generally better to use sRGB becausemost browsers ignore the colour profile and treat it as sRGB. The other thing is jpg compression - I think this is more due to the e-group forum gallery compressing stuff (most forums do).

A stunning shot of Cliveden, close to picture perfect.

A great place to throw a pool party I believe ...

Re: Cliveden gardens - Remember those lovely summer days?

Pretty photo & I'm glad it brings happy warm memories. Today it was 31 degrees in Springwood & Saturday it will be 37 degrees & 40 degrees in Penrith (NSW). Does that give you a nice warm feeling. B_____y Hot to me.

Re: Cliveden gardens - Remember those lovely summer days?

Thanks for the comments, strangely, the image has an antipodean connection. I had taken some of my Kiwi relatives to visit Cliveden and were were so lucky with the weather on the day.

Cheers

Chris

Re: Cliveden gardens - Remember those lovely summer days?

A lovely shot, and one that makes me miss England.

I hope to bring my wife home for a visit next year, but probably won't make summer.

Thanks for sharing.

David.

Come to Australia now. It'll be around 40 degrees in various areas of the country (e.g. west of Sydney) to start 2011, then you will experience some warm sunshine.
