This is relevant to older versions of Windows (7 and older). Windows 8 and 10 are not affected.

There are still many thousands using older versions of Windows so it's valid useful information for them.

No idea Harold. The article you linked says the issue doesn't affect Windows 8 or 10 so I simply thought it would save others the bother of reading it if it wasn't relevant to them.

I have had a total of 11 fairly large updates loading in the background over the last 3 days. One, a feature update, took almost 3 hours to download and install. Whilst all this was taking place, the computer was running like a one legged donkey. Quite unusual for this number of updates to arrive over such a short period so it does make me wonder what's going on with Microsoft.
