Looking for improvement This is the e-group critique board. If you post a picture here it will be assumed that you are looking for comprehensive technical feedback - both good and bad, but always respectful. Only post pictures here if you can deal with potentially negative constructive criticism. Anyone is qualified to comment and post feedback, and everyone is encouraged to do so. NB: "Looking for Improvement" is the place to post any pictures you would like advice on improving, no matter how bad you might think they are.

Re: Crich Stand (Derbyshire) sunrise

My goodness, out of all the possible areas for disagreement on an Internet forum I find it most strange that the difference between FF and LFI should cause so much friction here! Yes, people do sometimes unwittingly post in the "wrong" section and yes, sometimes other members offer rather more critique than would normally be expected in FF, but this is never malicious and always driven by pure enthusiasm for the subject.

What is unacceptable is hijacking another member's FF thread to resurrect this ongoing, simmering debate. If anyone wants to continue this discussion then please start a new thread for the purpose (frankly I don't care where) and leave this thread for those who wish to comment on Ian's excellent picture. Oh, and in future if anyone should spot a thread in the wrong section could I politely request that it is reported by PM to one of the mods or by using the "Report" button. Commenting in the thread only exacerbates the original error!

Re: Crich Stand (Derbyshire) sunrise

Nice shots, Ian - and crops !

(I was wondering what format LFI was in the last comment, knowing FF and APS-C and all ... D'oh !

I prefer LFI for my commenting - perhaps I'm always a bit critical. Though when I have offered criticism on FF, in error (I've forgotten which Sub-forum I'm on), the original poster has always been gracious in allowing un-asked-for comments to stand :-) )

Re: Crich Stand (Derbyshire) sunrise

For the record, I do think that this thread should have started off in the Critique board(which we call Looking for Improvement) here. If I had seen it early enough I would have moved it (probably still will). But it's not the end of the world.

It is completely unnecessary to divert attention away from the heart of the thread by squabbling about which board it should go into.

The practicality is that the use of boards that are not ideal happens. There is no malice in it. If you think a thread is in the wrong place please get in touch with a mod and we'll consider moving it.

I must also apologise myself for not being around very much in the last few days because of my own distractions!

By the way there is also a big difference between the terms 'criticism' and 'critique' - basically in the tone and strength of the meaning, with 'critique' much more applicable here of course.

Re: Moved to Looking for Improvement - Crich Stand (Derbyshire) sunrise

Going back to the original discussion I would like to see a bigger version of the cropped image if that is possible Ian (Grego)? I think it would be even more impressive

Nice shot and the crop improves it.

(daft subsequent discussion about correct boards)
