Recommendation for lights?

I have to do a portrait assignment for a photography course I am doing.

I have a friend who is willing to model and a time and a place, however I think it will be dark.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced light I can use to help illuminate her face.

Either one I hold free hand or can attached to my Olympus?

Thanks

Re: Recommendation for lights?

What about one of those constant LED lights. Mind you never tried one - has anyone else?

A Lume cube might do the job.

Re: Recommendation for lights?

Or maybe just a cheap 30 Led Panel from a big supermarket? I keep one in my car instead of a torch.

Re: Recommendation for lights?

I got 10, 12V 48 LED Super Bright White Piranha LED panels, from eBay and made a bigger panel from 9 of them stuck together in a DVD case. It runs off a 12V adaptor indoors or any 12V battery outside.

Keith - Definitely believe Tom is leading you astray - Your original post mentioned nothing about WATER, or bums.
