Updating Camera Firmware by SD Card.

I saw this link on another site and thought it may be useful. I have not tried doing this myself although I did follow the link to see what was going on!

https://lightsnowdev.com/Olympus/

It enables you to download the official Olympus firmware update and put it onto an SD card which you can then use to flash a firmware upgrade. It has been reported that it is possible using this technique to revert the faulty E-M1 4.2 upgrade back to 4.1.

Not sure which forum section this should go in as there is no generic camera forum (as opposed to model specific) so dumping it in the software section as that seems the most appropriate alternative.

Re: Updating Camera Firmware by SD Card.

Could be useful but at the moment I think I will wait for Olympus to bring out a corrective firmware.

Re: Updating Camera Firmware by SD Card.

He's been doing it for a while with success & people do use it, but I haven't broken ranks & gone down that path though.
