Lens doesn't fit

I just bought an Olympus ed 40-150 md micro four third lens but it does not fit my Olympus emd 5

Both have the same micro four thirds logo but the lens housing is bigger than the mouth of the camera.

How can this be? What am I missing? At there different types of micro four thirds lenses? I've never had this before?

Re: Lens doesn't fit

I think you have bought a 4/3 rather than micro 4/3 lens

Re: Lens doesn't fit

Really but it has the same logo on the lens. Do they mean the same thing?

Re: Lens doesn't fit

The logos are very similar and I can't remember the difference, but you will need an adapter (e.g. MMF or 3) to fit the lens on your camera.
Was it very cheap? Can you take it back?

It was 50. On eBay. I am seeing if the seller will refund it.

Re: Lens doesn't fit

Here are links to the two lenses on the Olympus site. Does it look like the first one?

Re: Lens doesn't fit

That is the four thirds lens. It sounds as if you need either a refund or an adapter.

Yes it would.
I would strongly recommend trying for a refund and getting the micro four thirds lens instead, image quality and focus speed are leaps and bounds ahead of the four thirds lens.
