Forever spinning dial?

I'm new to my em5 mk I and love it but am not sure if he camera has a fault, a quirk or whether it's user error!

When in manual mode and changing the shutter dial (either of them), the options don't always change. The shutter sticks at a point and no matter how much I rotate the dial it doesn't change.

Is this a quirk of the camera?
Am I doing something wrong?

Occasionally switching to another mode and back again kicks the camera back to life and it works again but not all the time.

This is annoying when I have a shot lined up and I cannot complete the photo due to this issue

Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Forever spinning dial?

Welcome to the e-group!

That doesn't sound normal to me. Are referring to the two adjustment wheels or the mode dial? Sometimes moving the wheel may feel like it has clicked but nothing seems to happen as if it misses a beat but unless the range of adjustment has been reached there should be something happening.

Which exposure mode are you using?

Re: Forever spinning dial?

Ian thank you. It's the two dials on the top. Whichever one I set to shutter the issue arises.

I am in manual mode when this happens.

You're probably right. I'm probably at the limits of the adjustment. It's odd though as I don't seem to be able to dial back from where I am.

Hi Keith, I am a newbie too, so hope this great forum comes up with positive answers for you. I have been taking 'pics' for a looooog time, but now think the OLY M4T format is quite stunning. Keep Posting

Re: Forever spinning dial?

I would reset the camera and start again from scratch.
