My 365 Thread

I've decided to post up all of the 365 shots on here as well as the other places (TPf / Zenfolio / Flickr). If 'Da-Management' object then of course, i will remove the thread as the images are not taken with an E-system Camera

Bringing in the New-Year with a BANG!

Well, its the first day of my '365' and i thougt i'd get it done and dusted early-on :-)

Caitlin, my youngest is covering her ears as she was expecting a loud bang, and in reality it was just a little louder than a standard party popper. After this the kids went berserk, going through a bag and a half of standard party-poppers in 5 minutes (guess who'll have to clean that up in the morning!!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!

365-2

365-2

Peek-a-boo!

I had to go to work today, so my mum had the kids for the day (my wife had to work as well). My wife arrived home before me, so i collected the kids, and 'delivered' them home. This shot was Rebecca's idea and it kinda worked, but the DOF was just a bit too thin, but after they heard the shutter fire, thats it - they were off into the house and the moment had gone, and i had to head off out agiain. By the time i got back it was dark and the shot could not be re-done

They have both really got into the idea of the whole 365 thing, giving me loads of ideas that i am keeping logged on a wonderfull little iPhone app called YouNote (I think i have around 60-70 ideas at the moment )

I for one will not be objecting - it's good to see any pictures as fun as these and you've been a great supporter of this site with many insightful posts so far

The true 'Da Management' on e-group is of course, Sir Ian... but as I am also an Admin around these 'ere parts, I guess I have at least some say in these matters.

So... this lesser 'Da Management' person also has absolutely no objections Chris... post away

Re: My 365 Thread

This is going to be a bumper thread

Are you going to be taking at least one picture a day or will you be sharing a picture every day?

The idea is that there will be picture taken specifically for the project every day, and it will be uploadied on the same day. In theory at least

On the topic of shutter sound (and I don't mean this as a flame) I was playing with My Mate's D5 Mk II last night

What a beast of a camera - loads of capability, but not one for subtle - the shutter was like a thunderclap and the thing weighed a ton. I'll be stiking with the 500/510 combo for now - especially when walking up hills!

Regards
Andy

Re: My 365 Thread

Gotta admit, the E-1 had the sweetest sounding shutter - ever!.

That's what interestes me about the upcoming 'EVIL' cameras. All the capabilities of a DSLR without the mirror-slap.

Re: My 365 Thread

"I Wish it could be Christmas Everyday"

Well today's the day the Christmas decorations come down (I Know, I Know - 12th night and all that!).

The girls LOVE Christmas, as i expect most children do, and its always sad faces when the decorations have to come down, with cries of "But the house looks bare!"

They both did really well, again, this Christmas despite me promising not to spoil them rotten, but i'm their dad, and its my job to spoil them. They are my reason for getting up in the morning and my reason for going out earning a crust every day. I would spend my last penny to make sure they were happy.

Do you know what my biggest worry in life is? My kids growing up, looking back at their younger years and being dissapointed in their dad, for whatevery reason. So i make it my lifes work to ensure that that does not happen. We go out whenever we can (pictures / eating out / swimming / concerts etc), we have regular holidays, and generally try to have a good time together as a family.

Spinning The Wheel!

Following on from yesterdays entry, today we went to Manchester as we do every year just after Christmas (We normally go between Christmas and New-Year, but left it a little later this year)

A walk around the shops to treat the girls to something, a ride on the big wheel, and a nice meal at Frankie & Benny's to round it off. We're now back home and about to settle down with the pop-corn (Butterkist toffee popcorn ) to watch Mamma-Mia on DVD. A pefrect day if ever there was one.

They are back to school tomorrow, and there social lives are back in full swing from this week too (Swimming / Dancing / After-School clubs etc), so early night for them tonight.

*SHOCK-HORROR*
todays picture was actually taken on an actual Olympus Camera (1030SW)
