FL-300R query?

Hi,

I'm considering returning to an Olympus as a ligther 'backup' (more for travel and days out) to my D750, but this time I'm looking at the EM1 (previously had the EM10 then EM5-II). Looking at the bundled flash on the EM1 it doesn't tilt like the EM5-II one so would need another flash, but as this will be mainly for travel I'd like it as small and light as possible. The 300r seems massively overpriced for what it is but I don't see another reasonable alternative, at least not something you could easily slip into your pocket. I've had the Meike 320 before which is pretty small, but not really pocketable.

Is the 300r powerful enough for the occasional indoor use, or it is pretty much a waste of time? How does it compare say to the one that's bundled with the EM5-II as I didn't find that particularly great unless the ceiling was really low. Bear in mind we're not aiming for studio level lol, just enough for potential pics whilst on holiday.

Any help appreciated.

Have you considered the Nissin i40? While not exactly "pocketable" (unless you are thinking of your jacket pocket), it is really small and light for a flashgun with a GN of 40 at ISO 100. Works superbly and I prefer it to the Olympus FL-600R which I also have.

Yes I have thanks. I considered it for a previous body but chose the Meike that I mentioned in my first post as it's slightly smaller and was much cheaper. Neither are pocketable though, not jeans/shorts pocketable anyway.
