Re: Capture One Pro 10 released..

Is it worth another €99 to upgrade? It is if using the E-M1 Mk II though, but are the other features worth it otherwise? Another poster elsewhere (as you know) said it runs faster than Pro 9.

Re: Capture One Pro 10 released..

I upgraded immediately and agree with the other poster that it is quicker than COP9..... in generating exports. I find it quite a bit slower than COP9 in keystone correction. I haven't had time to fiddle with the other new features yet, but my initial impressions are that it is not a lot better than COP9.3.

Is it worth the 99 to upgrade? If you intend getting an E-M1 II, then yes. Otherwise, just wait and see. Remember that you can upgrade to COP10 from COP8 and COP9. See whether COP11 is any better.

My opinions may change after I have fiddled around with it a bit more.

Re: Capture One Pro 10 released..

I've now upgraded because I needed to spend an over-payment on my credit card.

I also would like to know if I can uninstall Pro 9 now? I think I've done it previously with an earlier upgrade.

Re: Capture One Pro 10 released..

Call me a wuss if you like, but I haven't tried to uninstall previous versions of COP. Not that I can see any reason why uninstalling a previous version would cause any problems. - An upgrade is simply a new installation. The upgrade part simply involved the generation of the serial number.

I currently have COP10 installed. I have just checked and COP8 and COP9 still work. Just remember that once a catalog or session has been upgraded to a new version, it cannot be downgraded to an older version.

Re: Capture One Pro 10 released..

Thanks for the info.

I was going to hang on for a little while, since past experience has been that there have been a few gotchas with major CO upgrades (although the move from 8 to 9 was entirely positive for me, with many fewer crashes and odd behaviours).

As a matter of interest, have they added any more Panasonic lens profiles (specifically the 15 f1.7 and 35-100 f2.8)?

No, only 7 lenses as I posted here. http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=43494

Re: Capture One Pro 10 released..

I've not upgraded yet although I have installed 10 on a 30 day trial.
I have noticed that support for DNG files seems to be better with this version, only really relevant for my SD Quattro because I prefer to convert from X3F RAW format to DNG to use in Capture One instead of Sigma's clunky Photo Pro 6 (and then export to TIFF) etc.
It does seem to be a bit quicker / slicker but 9.3 is no slouch.
I might upgrade in a moment of weakness but Mark's logic of waiting until 11 seems sensible. I'm not planning on an E-M1 MkII purchase soon.
