Hi didn't Nikon, have this ability on one of their camera's a while back.
I seem to recall it being in advertisement selling point.

Not bursting Olympuses bubble.

Certainly not a Nikon first.

I have this feature on my Olympus mju (AKA Tough) camera. It was then called "PreCog" and was great for catching Dolphins, etc., leaping out the water.

I think our (family) has Fuji ultrazooms with pre-capture, but at lower resolutions though.
