A sunny frosty Milldale in Derbyshire

Here are a few from my recent visit to Milldale. It was a sunny walk but pretty cold. Didn't have time to get the whole way through to Dovedale so I have an excuse to go back

Milldale village

And a few from the walk along the river Dove

That walk brings back memories. No3 my favourite, for the flare.

Nice Phill D. You are really putting that 12-100 to very good use.

Re: A sunny frosty Milldale in Derbyshire

I don't think it's been off the camera since I got it Henry I haven't missed the long end as much as I'd expected but I certainly appreciate the extra wide view to 12mm. The image quality is superb especially for close ups. There is a sort of sparkly clarity to shots if you get all the settings right that just makes me want to go out and take a picture, so great for mojo! It's a bit on the heavy side but so far it's not been a problem so overall yes I'm very pleased with it.

Re: A sunny frosty Milldale in Derbyshire

John that flare was a bit exaggerated as I have a clear filter on the lens. Sometimes it's ok but often it causes too many spots showing I've forgotten to clean it!

If you can get up to Derby anytime I'd be only too pleased to take you out into the Peak to revive a few more old memories.

Phill

Glad you are enjoying the lens. I look forward to your experience of close-ups with butterflies and flowers.

We love the peak District and have stayed a number of times. I am just about close enough to visit more...perhaps when my wife stops working. But last summer we stayed close to the national park and spent time walking in the Longshaw Estate. The NT do provide good car parks

But I don't have your eye for landscapes. And these are lovely.

Phill - The curved composition of your opening shot is just too cool (and not referring to the weather). So nice to see blue skies overhead, not such a common sight I gather! Wonderful pictures of your walk.

Re: A sunny frosty Milldale in Derbyshire

Too kind guys, but much appreciated.
Mark that curved composition just sort of presented itself. I'll have to go back and look at the images to see how much is a curved wall and how much is the lens exaggerating it. Actually I wanted to include a little bit more of the wall but some idiot photographer got his shadow on it again!
