Weekend Wildlife

I was lucky enough to have two trips out this weekend, both to go in search of Scottish wildlife. On Saturday I headed for Strathdearn near Tomatin, just off the A9:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

Today I stayed more local at Glen Cannich where early sunshine was replaced by dull, snowy conditions:

7.

8.

9.

10.

11.

12.

Thanks for looking!

You had a most rewarding day I love all your pictures.
Your opening shot of the squirrel up a tree is really nice

Thanks Phil, I only just realised you can see my silhouette reflected in the eye of the grumpy looking second hare!

Re: Weekend Wildlife

Fantastic shots as usual Iain.
The stags 'having a go' and the Red Squirrel are my favourites.

Luck
Usually they run off up the hill when they see you heading their way, but now and again they might sit tight and as long as you move slowly you can get pretty close. I only had the 300mm with me on the hill so didn't get too close, but the guy I was with got to within 10-12 feet.
