Firmware version 2.2 released for the EM1 MK2

http://dl01.olympus-imaging.com/ww/u.../index22a.html

Stability of operation when shooting still images has been improved.

Corrected issue of C-AF not operating correctly when using the "LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 ASPH.(H-X025)" interchangeable lens produced by Panasonic.

When you update your firmware to version 2.2, camera settings are reset.

Re: Firmware version 2.2 released for the EM1 MK2

Interesting... I hadn't realised there was a problem with the Leica 25mm f1.4!

Guess I'll have to save my settings and update my camera once the eager beavers have checked it out

Re: Firmware version 2.2 released for the EM1 MK2

Thanks skids for letting us know.

For those waiting for the guinea pigs to try first.

I just did the update and it work fine and also it DID restore all my saved settings which I recommend you save BEFORE doing update.

Everything seems fine.

Performed the firmware update. I can confirm that the camera is not a brick.

Re: Firmware version 2.2 released for the EM1 MK2

I've done the update too (I had skipped 2.1). The one thing that may change (with settings automatically saved) is the SD Card Slot Settings, particularly if turning the camera on without one or both SD cards in. It's easily updated in Menu H1 though.

Hopefully!

Actually, I've not had any problems though, probably because I wasn't using those particular features where it may have happened.

Re: Firmware version 2.2 released for the EM1 MK2

Updated with no problems. As said the software stored settings automatically.

I suspect the 2.1 firmware made my 100-400 Pany do something strange when photoing the moon. Just could not get sharp shots. With luck this version will have sorted that, or maybe I should take stronger pills.....

Still didn't remember the shutter speed settings in C1 - C3 menus though! I thought they'd sorted that!

Re: Firmware version 2.2 released for the EM1 MK2

Hmmmmm.

Going to Africa with both bodies in 10 days; haven't had a lock-up for around 12 months; no longer have the PL 25...

I'll probably do it when I get back.

Re: Firmware version 2.2 released for the EM1 MK2

Apparently someone has found an issue after the update.

Quote:
Well, I found my first change. I can no longer set the FN lever action independently in Custom Sets.

Normally I use it to switch from S-AF to C-AF, and in C3(Manual) It will change the dials from Shutter/Fstop to ISO/Exposure Comp. With the new firmware, the lever setting (mode) is NOT saved in Custom modes.
I can confirm that the normal fn buttons seem to be saving though.

Figures that I just found a button setup for fast action that I like, and now cant use.

EDIT: Now he has updated his response.

You can downgrade from the newer version for now while Olympus sorts this out/or not:

Nick779 replied:
Wow, that worked perfectly. Im sticking with 2.1.

Edit: I may have been mistaken, it exhibits the same behavior in 2.1 and according to Wrotniak's page, the FN lever setting is not retained in the custom modes, so maybe I was just wrong the whole time.

Edit2: if anyone has any suggestions on using exposure comp when using auto iso and manual, id love suggestions. Setting a button to exposure comp does absolutely nothing.

Re: Firmware version 2.2 released for the EM1 MK2

Upgraded two bodies today. Irritatingly, although the updater did save/restore my settings, the touch screen was re-enabled (first thing I do is switch it off) when the process was complete.

Checking the manual (v2, p165 onwards) the column labelled *1 shows that there are a surprising number of settings - including touch screen - that are not saved in the Cx presets but are set to default by a full reset (ie after a firmware upgrade).

At least the horrible "Keep Warm Color" setting is preserved.
