Hi res mode

Just gave it a try, and was a little rushed so forgot to reset the ISO away from auto, so an ISO1000 photo looks like this, I've adjusted the levels slightly in LR but not added any sharpening or noise reduction...

And the noise at ISO 1000 is quite impressive... here's a little section of the photo:

Re: Hi res mode

Because Hi Res merges multiple images, noise is significantly suppressed compared to single images. It's one of the advantages of using it.

Re: Hi res mode

Nicely done, plenty of detail (but I suppose that is the point of HiRes).

Re: Hi res mode

I want to go back with a tripod and ISO64 - I think it'd be stunning then!

In Hires mode there is no noise whatever at base ISO, which is 200.
Going below that will only make things worse as you lose dynamic range.

Make sure you have a good tripod - the smallest movement spoils things.
Worth setting the Hires shot delay on Shooting menu 2. I set it to 2 secs.

And set it to 50MP not 25MP.
