Can't figure out this grid reference

Hi All

I've stumbled across what someone tells me is a grid reference, but I can't seem to use this in Google Maps or any other map reference to find the exact location.

Can anyone help please...?

Grid Ref. 043163

Re: Can't figure out this grid reference

If its in the UK you need the map grid reference too, something like NT, NZ, or SE that gives the area map in OS.
Plus it should be 5 digits long eg SK 04333 16333

Whereabouts is it supposed to be? That would help with the map grid.

Regards

Gavin

Yep, that's it Paul. It's the location of a Bothy, and it will be a nice stop on our day trip - if we can find it!

Re: Can't figure out this grid reference

Good grief John !

You were obviously not a boy scout ... Grid references are wonderful !

If anyone wants some ideas of the scenery... I have some taken in the snow

http://www.shenstone.me.uk/galleries/landscapes/beacons/index.html

The robin in this gallery was taken vey close to John's bothy location
...
and the picture of the tyre tracks in the snow where I drove the car off the road was about 1/4 mile further on. You wouldn't belive how little damage I did rattling the car along 30 foot of fence and narrowly missing a telegraph pole.

The most wouding part of the episode was being towed out by a land rover

I remembered too late why I used to have snow chains when I lived oop north

Regards
Andy
