A few more friends from Longleat

The Lions were all asleep so here are few of the other residents.

Don't think that Koala was impressed

Re: A few more friends from Longleat

Hi Phil

Lovely shots and good memories.

It is a shame we are not still doing the competition to modify/develop the RAWs as that Koala would be lots of fun...

Happy to supply the image if you'd like to do a one off thread Peter. Which one did you have in mind?

I'm not sure that it would end up going well, Phill. So we won't go there. But the Koala with the cheeky tongue is a wonderful catch.

Re: A few more friends from Longleat

Lovely images. Maybe the koala has just heard this week's sad news that he's technically extinct....

Re: A few more friends from Longleat

I didn't realise they were so endangered Jon, indeed very sad. I think that's one of the reasons for bringing the group over to Longleat. They are hoping to bread them. There were 5 but one died. The remaining 4 did look quite at home though and do have quite a nice enclosure. The keeper seems to be a very dedicated chap and spent several months in Oz with them before they made the trip. He told us that they have set up a local farm to grow the eucalyptus just for the Koalas and it's growing well in the UK. Fingers crossed the Koalas thrive here.

Re: A few more friends from Longleat

Thanks for your kind words everyone. Here are a few more of the locals.

Probably a more typical Longleat shot!

The Lions and Cheetahs were heavily cropped and shot through tinted car windows so apologies for any odd colours.
