12-100mm Pro, works very well with extension tubes.

Just been playing around with my new acquisition, the 12-100. Much to my surprise it works well with tubes, the 12-40mm did not.

Iíll give it a go. I quite often use tubes with the 300: theyíre a great combination for shooting butterflies since you can be far enough away not to throw shadows and frighten them off.

A good experiment. You're off to a flying start with that 12-100

Which tubes have you got. Are they fully auto or manual ones?

I've used the 40-150mm F2.8 with the cheapo auto tubes and that works well too.
I still need to engineer a way of fitting the dual, or circular flash heads to it though; fortunately I also have the 150mm Sigma and a home made adaptor for night-timemoth survey use.

Iíve got the Kenkos, fully auto. Theyíre not cheap (although there are occasional offers if you monitor prices) but if Iím hanging the 300 off them I want something thatís strong enough to cope.

Not tried mine on the 12-100 good suggestion Dave I'll have to give it a try. Feel free to post any examples you've got so far.
