Any experience of Experience Days?

Has anyone been to one of the so-called `experience days`at a local dealer and if so what can I expect? There is one coming up at Clifton Cameras in Dursley, Glos later in November. Billed as `experience Olympus and bring along your own Olympus products`and resident experts will be on hand to give advice and show you the latest gear (probably the new PRO lenses?) I am going, not least because it is free, local to me and I hope to get some advice on the dreaded EM1 Mk 2 menu system which I still struggle with after a year despite having an excellent book on the subject.

Hopefully, you can come back and explain that menu to us in its entirety

Re: Any experience of Experience Days?

I went to one in Cardiff earlier in the year and it was exactly as billed, plenty of lenses and a few bodies available to borrow and we went on a walk.

At certain points, specific functions and techniques were demonstrated, assistance given to those who wanted to try them out and the best way to emulate it if your kit did not support that function (e.g. focus stacking) was discussed

It certainly demystified and simplified a few settings for me and I would go on one again

It did result in my purchasing a 60mm macro for the focus stacking capability

My Kit (OK I'm a hoarder...)
4/3 E500, E510, E30 + 35macro, 50macro, 7-14, 11-22, 14-45 (x2), 14-54, 40-150 (both types), 50-200, 70-300, 50-500,
m 4/3 EM1MkII + 60 macro, 12-100 Pro
FL20, FL36 x2 , FL50, cactus slaves etc.
The Boss (Mrs Shenstone) E620, EM10-II, 14-41Ez, 40-150R, 9 cap and whatever she can nick from me when she wants it
