510 does low light

I shot this at 10:30pm, illumination provided by the moon. I know it's not much to look at, just my driveway. Certainly not a great pic by any means, but with a little time, (60 sec), a 510, 14-54 can take a pic with a little moonlight. No noise reduction applied.

Wow - it looks like daylight, except you can see the stars (Dave - I wonder if anyone gets that...!) in the sky.

Very interesting shot!

Re: 510 does low light

Yes, I was impressed that the 510 could pull that shot off. What I was most surprised about was the color it was able to capture, and yes, those are stars.

Re: 510 does low light

That is almost like daylight, bit chilly as well I suspect with all that snow on the ground too!
Is it the snow that's helping with lighting making it feel daylight?

Re: 510 does low light

The snow really allowed the moon to light everything up, and it was cold. I think it was about 15F.

Me, I always found the 510 to be an exceptionally good camera at all time

Re: 510 does low light

Yorky, I agree. although I don't have the experience to judge it against any other DSLR as this is my first. I still have so much to learn and for me, i am still amazed by what this cam can do. I hope that some day I will know enough and have enough experience to even be able to appreciate what another camera can do.
