BIF - Red Kite!

After having the promise of sun for the last three days only to see gloomy skies for the past two, it was a pleasure to wake to an almost cloudless sky. Monday is normally a catch up with the chores day but we have so few good photo opportunities that it was up and out this morning.

I was also trying to book Sunday lunch for the family for Mother's Day - we have decided to meet up half way between us and our son and family in Kent and so was juggling with the mobile phone when we were on high ground. Reception in this area is patchy to say the least but I did manage to sort that out and was also quite pleased with this -

Taken with the OM-D, 70-300mm lens.

Regards,
Ann1e

Very nice Ann1e. You've certainly got an unusual shot there. Very nice indeed.

Re: BIF - Red Kite!

Superb Annie, I would love to know what settings you used.

I had a 70-300 that broke. I replaced it with the SWD 50-200.
On the E3 both lenses 'hunt' for the target and rarely lock on.

Mark for this very reason I do not use my SWD anymore the Mark 1 is much much better and I focus manually to start and then let it keep track ...

So you should be Ann1e !

That's a fantastic shot. Who said the E-M5 is no good for BIF? and with the 70-300 as well.
Many thanks for sharing.

Regards.

Re: BIF - Red Kite!

A terrific day for photographing them Anne.

The one I missed and you nailed it so well.

It was pleasing seeing them having fun high in the sky, they must have seen for miles.

Regards. Barr1e
