Ftu/e-system Group Day Out

Time for another one?

I will be hosting a FTU/E-System Group day out on Saturday 20th September at the Essex Hot Air Balloon and Kite Festival.

For further information on this event visit www.mpevents.co.uk

Gates open at 12.00 noon, ticket prices TBA. There will be a morning balloon flight at 6.00am, weather permitting, with free entrance. I suggest we meet for this, then go for a coffee somewhere before returning when the gates re-open at noon.

Because of the nature of this event I appreciate that it will probably appeal mainly to fairly local members but all, of course, are very welcome. It's certainly worth a visit even if you cannot make the early balloon flight.

Please let me know if you are interested.

See thread on FTU for sample pictures from last year's event.

Me too - assuming the price of a family ticket isn't prohibitive. Any chance in going up in one of the balloons?

Want to change it to the Sunday?

Re: Ftu/e-system Group Day Out

Up for it, and it's in the diary. The Mrs will probably want to come as well - she loves hot air balloons.

6 am on a Saturday is a bit too early for my system to stand, but joining up later would be good.

Interesting that this is not at Hylands Park itself. When I worked for Chelmsford Borough Council a few years ago, this is the kind of thing we would have bitten hands off to host - to the point where we actually part-funded our "own" Chelmsford Balloon. The regime has changed somewhat since then...

Oh, that's a shame. The reason why Saturday is a better day is that the entertainment goes on longer, with an extra balloon flight in the evening followed by a Night Glow of tethered balloons firing up and fireworks. This is quite spectacular and doesn't happen on Sunday.

However, I am quite happy to go both days as it's on my doorstep (I did last year) and would be pleased to meet anyone who cannot come on the Saturday.

Here's a couple of pics from last year's Night Glow (must try to get the exposure right this year - and use RAW mode!)

Blast! Would have loved to come to this but sadly I'm another one with a prior engagement

We're off for a weekend of motorcycling in the Peak District staying at the most impressive B&B I've ever been to (http://www.underleighhouse.co.uk). They have raised breakfast to an art form

Cheers,

JohnGG

John,

Count me provisionally in (sorry for the lawyer-speak!), but it depends on my daughter's concert commitments (not yet confirmed).

Sure Andrew,

I'll include you on the list but without prejudice of commitment to this or any other present or future event that may or may not be convened. It shall also be noted on this 4th day of the month of July in the year 2008 (two thousand and eight) that the organising, facilitating and co-ordinating agent for this event (hereafter referred to in this document as "me") shall likewise in no way be responsible, regardless of whether responsibility appears to be expressely stated or implied, for any change or cancellation in this proposal for whatever reason.

Hi Andrew - if you are able to come it'll be great to see you again!

Cheers

Now that B&B looks real good. Enjoy!

Hopefully I'll catch up with you another time.

Bad luck Dave,

Maybe you'll be able to make one of the other events for which I've just posted details......
