Re: Camera you focus later

It's certainly an interesting concept but I think that's all it is at the moment... there's a couple of major problems as far as I can see:
  1. The image quality is pretty poor.
  2. The sensor is small so you get a large depth-of-field which makes the change of focus less noticeable.
Still, I really hope they can continue to develop it...

Re: Camera you focus later

It is interesting but it needs a lot more development work. However, it is good fun playing with the sample pictures on their website, trying to decide which bit you would like to be in focus. I usually end up undecided!

Re: Camera you focus later

You can only view the pictures using their site to host them.
You cannot convert the pictures to any normal format (JPG).
It only works on a Mac.

I gather there are some issues to be worked out before this is interesting....
Some of my pictures can be viewed here.

I think it's watch this space..........

Over time I can see this becoming a significant concept. Limited at the moment but the potential is massive.

I've worked hard to be this grumpy. It hasn't been easy at times but it's worth it.

Re: Camera you focus later

This is a double edged sword IMHO... Yes it will be great if you go on a holiday of a lifetime and find your photos are not focussed properly, but the other side of that sword is that it could end up taking all the creativity and fun out of taking photos. Or am I wrong in thinking this?

Its a shame that humans dont come with autofocus, like cameras do!
