OM 300mm f4.5

I have just picked up one of these from Ebay. It is in excellent condition and I am looking forward to using it.
To any owners of this lens out there, are there any particular dos and don'ts with it? Like, is it worth combining with the EC-20 for instance?
I will be using it with my E-3.

Well I am really John but I fancy a 300mm but the ZD is out of my league. I have just tested in at various apertures and to tell you the truth there is little to choose between any of them. They are all very good. Even tried it with the EC-20 and whilst there is a reduction in sharpness it might not be too bad.
1200mm equivalent.
Lots of light? Definitly
Tripod? Definitely

For 135 I think I have a bargain as it is in pristine condition as is the case.

Re: OM 300mm f4.5

My sample is better at f/5.6 than wide open. I've never tried it with my EC-14 but have used it with the OM 1.4x-A and 2x-A converters in my OM system using days.

The 300mm f/4.5 with the 2x-A wasn't a combination recommended by Olympus but I've had shots published from them.
